Reuters: White House seeks limit on release of Enron papers -- Why is this not surprising? Christian Science Monitor: Pakistani president at the fulcrum of crisis -- "'I personally don't feel that Musharraf can control these groups,' said Tariq Rahman, a professor at Quaid-i-Azam University in Islamabad. "There are groups that want to embarrass him; they have their own version of Islamization.'" Washington Post: CIA failed to share intelligence on hijacker -- "The CIA possessed disturbing information about one of the Sept. 11 hijackers months before it was previously disclosed and could have used that knowledge to prevent him from renewing his visa to enter the United States prior to the attack on the Pentagon and World Trade Center, a senior administration official said yesterday." Newsweek: The hijackers we let escape William Safire: J. Edgar Mueller -- "Under the police powers it operated under last year, and with the lawful cooperation of a better-managed C.I.A., an efficiently run F.B.I. might well have prevented the catastrophe of Sept. 11.
